Helping individuals with disabilities obtain, maintain, and/or advance in meaningful employment in order to maximize independence and integration into the community is at the heart of the public Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program’s mission. 

The Vocational Rehabilitation Technical Assistance Center (VRTAC) provides technical assistance and training on managing the public VR program and on a wide range of employment strategies to ensure states are able to both lawfully administer the program AND improve the quality of service delivery and result in better outcomes.

VR Counselors work to help individuals with disabilities identify and achieve a competitive integrated employment (CIE) goal that is both self-determined and based on informed choice. In order to support VR Counselors and public VR programs in increasing the quality of VR services they provide and, by extension, the quality of outcomes VR participants
